About Madeline Mastromarchi
Design isn't timeless, the idea is to create work that is ahead of its time. I work to evolve in creative ways, to develop different styles of minimal web and graphic design. In project management I am especially skilled at problem solving and identifying inefficiencies, expert at creating processes, an implementor and advocate for methodology whether it may be agile, waterfall or software development life cycle. I am Scrum Master certified and have a Project Management certification from the University of Colorado Denver.
I have eighteen years of experience in digital and print publishing and twelve years working in software project management. I have extensive experience in creative direction, web design, content management and project management with an education in graphic design, fine arts and project management. My unique set of skills, experience, passion for learning have given me the opportunity to work in a variety of industries which have included software, newspaper, magazine publishing, agriculture, insurance, fine arts and music.
I was a child artist, at age twelve I participated in a two-year artist apprenticeship in Albany, New York where I studied studio art drawing, painting and art history. In high school I was in the Advanced Placement Studio Art program at Shaker High School. In college I continued to study fine arts and transitioned into graphic design at SAGE College of Albany. My first big freelance design project was as Creative Director of 20 Pages of Funk magazine, which was a quarterly print magazine sponsored by Red Bull. In 2003 I started working for a software company that developed newspaper websites where I had the opportunity to develop skills and experience in web design, web development, content management, content automation and software project management.
In 2006 I published an online magazine YummyZine, which similar to aforementioned 20 Pages of Funk was dedicated to art, electronic dance music, dj interviews, fashion, car style, an advice column, with contributing writers Adam Morehead, Lisa Lee Ananias, Lola Santana, Serge Milli, Justin Gates and Fawn Grant. Photography has also always been a passion of mine and in 2012 I was recognized with an award from Blanton Museum of Art for my photography at 13th Lake. That same year I earned my Bachelors in Fine Arts at SUNY Empire State College. In 2015 I earned a Project Management Certificate at University of Colorado Denver. Currently I live in Denver, Colorado where I continue to work in IT project management. In my free time I work on oil paintings, life figure drawings, enjoy outdoor adventures and road biking.
